Design for 2050

We got to explore how we can imagine and speculate our projects one billion seconds from now, 2050. We did an amazing collaborative exercise in which we developed in groups a fictional tv episode, using black mirror as a reference but aiming to be less dystopian.

This was the episode I collaborated in:

Conclusion:

This exercise allowed me too explore a scenario envisioning how my project can have an impact in the 2050 world, positive or negative, and related to others projects; how could we combine our own points of view and areas of expertise and intervention to see in the futures how a collective interrelation of our so needed changes can be visualized. How the human nature that I am exploring can still make us go addicted and take a technological development to the edge of the reflection of our own needs and holes. Also how there will always be a resistance, some of us will realize the impact a behavior is having on us, and fight to get out of it, sometimes not in the best way, denying our nature and fight it has never worked to totally change it, but I can’t deny it’s a good first step. 30 years, as longs as it sound, is not really that long, but the rhythm in which the digital acceleration age is developing technology did allow us to dream a scenario just in the limit between dystopian and utopian.
